Mermaid on the Rock on Flickr.
I photographed this model yesterday and post-processed this shot as soon as I got home. Nothing special about it per se; I just grabbed one good photo among countless others. We spent about five hours walking around, taking photos here and there, and it’s nice to give people a chance too. As you probably know, I typically do landscapes, and landscape photography is a great influence on how I do people.
I remarked that she looked like The Little Mermaid here, as in the sculpture by H. C. Andersen. We were nowhere near the sea however; this was taken in a cemetary.
You should of course check out her Facebook page!
A Spooky Church on Flickr.
I hadn’t tried this method of post-processing before, but I liked the end result in spite of the gradient banding (which I tend to be sensitive to). It gave the church a spooky sense to it, and it is kind of spooky, located on top of a mountain with its steep naked walls. See also: Nynäshamn Church.
Little Gustafsborg on Flickr.
This house is called Lilla Gustafsborg and was built around 1860 for count Rutger Wachtmeister. As I understand it, the house is a private residence today. See also: House on the Hill.
Down a Dirt Road on Flickr.
I kept wandering down the dirt road with my camera on its tripod, and I was properly rewarded with the best photowalk of the entire year. Well, at least one of the best. It’s difficult to rank creativity, and why should you? It’s just hard not to. Anyway, I dove to the bottom of my digital toolbox for this shot, and I resurfaced with an infrared filter in mind. It worked out neat, I think.
Church of St. Matthew on Flickr.
This gothic revival church was designed by Helgo Zettervall and stood finished in 1892. The exterior is quite impressive but the interior left me disappointed, mostly because the lack of height. What’s the point of erecting a great gothic building if the nave isn’t reaching for the sky? Several chandeliers hung from the cealing as well, further diminishing the sense of height. Also note the lack of cross-ribbed vaulting except for in the apse.
What’s your view on creativity by the way? I wrote a couple of sentences about it on my Facebook page the other day.
Mischievous Girl on Flickr.
My friend Anneli outside the Stockholm Palace. It think this shot reveals quite a lot of her character. Mischievous and up to no good!
I played around a little bit yesterday, creating a slideshow. It has some quirks but making it was fun.
Vaxholm Marina on Flickr.
I was going to photograph Vaxholm Fortress, an historical renaissance castle located on an island just outside the marina. That didn’t work out however, but here’s a shot of the marina itself.
Lux Park Boardwalk on Flickr.
As a photographer I’ve learned that daylight isn’t just daylight, and the same goes for dusk. The light around dusk can be very different, and your eyes doesn’t really notice but a camera sure does. I mention it because this evening, the light was pretty bad. This is one of a few couple of photos that I could work with.
Shower of Steel II on Flickr.
Another photo of the shower, taken from the opposite direction, with just a hint of lens distortion.
